In the early phases of the project, when I was conducting a SWOT and PESTEL analysis for Vertex's entry into the UAE medical instrument market, our team members identified a potential weakness together- the high cost of orthopedic implants and reimbursement constraints as a threat, which is a significant concern as it could deter patients and healthcare institutions from adopting Vertex's bunion deformity implants.

At first, my initial emotional response was a mix of concern and frustration for the reason that market concentration posed a significant obstacle to Vertex's success. Furthermore, a market research indicated that competition was intense. Last but not least, our project will remain at a theoretical level without actionable recommendations or creative solutions.

As far as I am concerned, such situation has sth to do with market concentration, which is a key aspect of competitive market analysis. According to established business theories, high market concentration often associates to fewer opportunities for new entrants and also intensified competition. What's more, I have also considered innovation theory, which emphasizes that innovative and applicable solutions are required to disrupt established markets.

In order to address market concentration effectively, we needed to think innovatively so that we reviewed various strategies with similar circumstances in line with theories of foreign market entry and competition. However, the "Innovator" and "Problem Solver" profiles from the Global Skills came to my aid. These profiles encouraged a shift in mindset, inspiring me to focus on creative solution generation. It was clear that relying on conventional strategies would not suffice.

As a result, I proposed a two-pronged solution based on creative problem-solving:

1. Tailor-Made Training Programs
2. Continuous Customer Feedback

Overall, this experience of addressing market concentration shows my growth in the field of creative solution generation, which make me realized that innovative thinking and the ability to generate unique, actionable solutions are critical when overcoming complex business cases.
